Dina – a life transformed
Published on November 11, 2014

Dina’s life has been transformed through the work of Girls’ Brigade in her area. Like many girls living in parts of Africa she struggled to gain access to education, but with GB’s help she has excelled! This presentation was shared at our International Conference (ICGB), and is the winner of this year’s competition to share how GB is at work, transforming girls lives!
Dina was born in the village of Kunzugu in 1995, the 8th of 9 children in her family. Dina was enrolled in the local primary school, but due to poor health was forced to drop out and so was never able to read and write.
In 2010 she joined the local Anglican Church. When a Girls’ Brigade Company began, Dina soon became a keen member. Although she could not read or write, she was welcomed and able to join in all the activities. Dina received Jesus as her Saviour and was baptised.
Dina is thankful to God for the way GB has transformed her life, helped her grow in her faith and stand firm in Jesus, given her an education, an income generating business, a ministry in the GB Company in her church and prepared her for marriage to Yohana, who also loves the Lord Jesus.
