With the countdown on for The Gathering 2017, the International Planning team are starting to get busy – organising the programme and creating resources to help this become an amazing week.
We have members from each of the five fellowships – Esther from Africa; Tracy from Asia; Safiya from C&A; Sam from Europe; Naomi from Pacific – as well as Naa from GB Ghana who is in charge of the logistical side of things!
The theme for The Gathering is going to be SHINE: From the Inside Out and will focus on how we, as sisters in Christ, can Shine for Jesus. We are hoping to continue some of the threads that began in South Africa in 2017, as well as building new ones.
The planning team is looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Gathering in Accra. Those of us that have been before can’t wait to catch up with some familiar faces, and we are all excited to meet all those who are attending The Gathering for the first time! We hope you are as blown away by it as we were!
For those attending (and those that just want to see what we are up to), there are monthly newsletters that will be published (starting in Dec ‘17) on The Gathering blog, and a Facebook page that can be used to correspond with other delegates before the event.

The team and I would be grateful to the whole GB family, if you would all be able to pray for us. We pray for God’s guiding hand in all the activities that we prepare for the week, as well as for all of the delegates that will be representing their country at this International event.
Chris Macfarlane, Co-ordinator of the International Planning Team, from GB Scotland, has been a member of GB for 22 years, and an officer for 8½ years. She has travelled all over the world with GB, including South Africa, Malaysia and Australia, and is looking forward to visiting Ghana in August.
