Staff Profiles
The work of The Girls’ Brigade International wouldn’t be possible without a large and inspirational team.
We’re grateful to the thousands of volunteers who lead and support our groups in over 50 different countries.
Each fellowship is also led by an amazing woman—their International Vice President. Together, these women form the International President’s Committee. They have a unique insight into the needs of their fellowships and they work together to turn up the volume of hope for girls.
We’ll let them introduce themselves…
Coral Anderson
International President
Coral was elected at the International Conference in the Cook Islands 2026, to be GB’s International President (2026–30)
I have loved being part of the GB family since I joined my first company in North London at the age of eight. When my family emigrated to Australia my Mum helped to start a GB company in Melbourne before we moved to Perth, Western Australia. Here I have had the privilege of serving with my GB sisters at all levels of leadership in GB Australia. The friendships I have made over the years are so important and long standing and I treasure each one.
My husband and I are part of Riverview Church in Perth, ‘’a good news community on mission: loving God, following Jesus and being transformed’’. We have two children and they, their spouses and six grandchildren make for lots of fun and noise when we get together.
GB has so much so offer today’s girls and young women, just as it has for over 130 years. Most importantly we offer a safe place for everyone to explore their faith, to be mentored as they walk their spiritual journey and to have fun. The intergenerational way GB works has always been important to me and I enjoy seeing women of faith empowering the next generation.
I believe the role of GBI is to support each National Council to develop relevant and relational programmes for the girls in their country. The teams that lead at all levels of GB should reflect the body of Christ, all members bringing their skills, abilities and dreams to see the mission of Christ fulfilled. Our world is rapidly changing and together we must ensure that our organisation remains relevant to its members and the churches they serve alongside.
Africa
Since joining the Girls’ Brigade in 1994, Mary has held leadership positions at every level, from the national council in Kenya to her local company.
Although her path of seeking, serving and following the Lord Jesus Christ has not been easy, she has gained resilience and discovered the joy of serving in the fear of the Lord, who serves as our role model in GB.
Her first term as IVP Africa is in 2026. She is committed to helping women and girls develop mental health and emotional resilience, leading with spiritual integrity and mentoring the next generation of believers. As she fulfills her new duty she asks for your prayers and support.
Mary and her husband Johnson reside in Nairobi, Kenya. They have four sons together. Mary loves farming, which has taught her many useful life lessons that she carries with her. She also contributes a wealth of knowledge in leadership, counselling and mediation. In addition to being the patron of her local company, Mary is an elder in her church. She feels that God has given her the chance to serve in this role and inspire women and girls, changing their lives and bolstering their spiritual journeys to impact their own lives and the next generation.
Asia
Elected in 2022, Nancy is looking forward to serving Asia as part of the international presidents Committee.
Nancy brings tremendous experience to the role of IVP for Asia, and the International Leadership team is blessed to add her wisdom to the team as GB moves forward in this next phase of mission.
“Thank God for broadening my horizon, that I can see the world. Knowing that I’m loved and privileged to have lots of opportunities to lead and to serve. I was loved and nurtured in GB. Throughout the years, GOD showed me His love and His plan for me, and I’m very grateful that I can know Him and serve Him with my life.”
Caribbean & Americas
IVP for the Caribbean & Americas Fellowship, Quindell lives in the beautiful setting of Jamaica. 2018 marks the beginning of her first term as IVP. Quindell says:
‘I’m really looking forward to this new post. Your prayers and support would be appreciated during this time so that God will help me to carry out my duties.’
Quindell has served the Caribbean & Americas Fellowship in many roles over the years and is really looking forward to this new post. Your prayers and support would be appreciated during this time so that God will help her to carry out her duties.
In addition to Girls’ Brigade she is Co-Founder and Artistic director to the Jamaica Youth Theatre, Chairperson of Secondary School’s Drama Festival and the Caribbean Secondary School’s Drama Festival. She also run a local theatre costume design and rental shop. Quindell is one of Jamaica’s leading collectors of period costumes and theatre props. Finally she’s an active member in her church where she serves as Technical Consultant, Chairperson Fundraising and member of the Property Committee.
Europe
I joined Girls’ Brigade in 1992 as a girl at the age of five, becoming an officer in 2009.
Since joining GB, I feel fortunate to have had some amazing opportunities to be involved at local, national and international levels including serving as a trustee of Girls’ Brigade Ministries and representing England and Wales at three ICGBs. In addition to being IVP, I am currently a local leader at 4th Morden Girls’ Brigade.
Girls’ Brigade has played a key role in developing my Christian faith and many of the life skills I have today by providing opportunities otherwise not available to girls and young women. The love and support of caring leaders provided a safe space to try things out and make mistakes without fear, enabling me to grow in confidence and abilities.
I was elected as IVP in November 2022, having previously served as the England and Wales representative on the GB Europe Fellowship Executive for two years from 2015–2018 and as GB Europe Fellowship Vice Chair for four years from 2018–2022. I am excited to see how God can use me in this new role.
The COVID-19 pandemic in the last few years provided unique challenges to how we operated both locally and internationally. Despite these, our members found new and creative ways to continue to support our girls and young women, their families and communities. As we look forward as an organisation, I am excited to see how we locally and internationally can continue to embrace these new methods of working to increase our reach and grow stronger.
Alongside volunteering with GB, I work as a hospital consultant (doctor), specialising in Paediatric Histopathology. As a Paediatric Histopathologist, I work in the laboratory analysing samples from pregnant women and children down a microscope in order to diagnose conditions such as cancer which can then be treated by colleagues.
I live in Tooting, South London with my husband, Will. Living in Tooting we are close to many of the museums, galleries and theatres that London has to offer and we enjoy exploring in a spare weekend. When not busy with GB or work, I enjoy swimming or playing defence in a local netball team. I also regularly sew cross-stitch squares which can then be turned into quilts for sick children.
The most exciting place I have visited with The Girls’ Brigade is Buckingham Palace, where I was fortunate enough to attend one of the Queen’s Garden Parties!
Pacific
Kaylene is from Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. Kaylene took over the position of IVP for the Pacific in April 2024 after serving 8 years as Deputy Chair. During this time, Kaylene assisted with GB training in the Pacific and has been able to get to know Godly women who were eager to learn all about Girls’ Brigade and how they could use their God given gifts to transform girls and enhance God’s Kingdom.
Kaylene has been a leader in Girls’ Brigade for 26 years and is currently Captain of her local company. Other Girls’ Brigade involvement consisted of NSW Training Coordinator and NSW Deputy Commissioner for many years.
Kaylene has been blessed with 5 grown up children, 3 boys and 2 girls and 4 grandchildren, 3 boys and 1 girl with another baby due to arrive in August. Kaylene loves being called Nanna!
Kaylene works shifts full time as an Aged Care Nurse and here she is also blessed with the love of the elderly who just want someone to care for them.
Other interests are sport, mainly athletics. Kaylene has been involved in Athletics NSW for over 30 years and volunteers as a State Official at NSW Championships and has been selected to officiate at three National Level Championships. When there is some down time, Kaylene loves watching sport on TV and is also a keen reader. Kaylene worships at the Warrawong Anglican Church and belongs to a weekly bible study.
Kaylene believes that God has chosen her to lead through Girls’ Brigade and is grateful to be given the opportunity to share her skills and wisdom by sharing Girls’ Brigade through training and relationships, empowering young women and ladies to enhance their lives and to go outside their comfort zone, so that God’s light may shine through them so that others can commit their lives to Christ.
International Treasurer
Joanne has been involved within the Girls’ Brigade as a girl and leader for 45 years. During this time she has belonged to groups in Wales, Scotland and England.
She currently is a member of the Network Executive and a Trustee for GBEW, is a leader in her local group in Gawsworth, District Team Leader for Greater Manchester and has also held the roles of Deputy Commissioner, District Treasurer and Regional Treasurer.
Joanne lives in Congleton, Cheshire with Barry and her two young boys, Luke and Xander. She works part-time as a self-employed Accountant and has a number of clients within the Charity Sector. Her spare time is spent doing volunteer work in her youngest son’s school as the Chair of the Parent and Teacher Association, attending Girls’ Brigade meetings online and in person, reading and doing a wide variety of craft activities such as sewing, jewelry making, cross stitch and sublimation projects. She is also studying to take her last qualification to complete her CIMA accreditation.
